In response to Daytrana Skin irritation and our experience posted by SuperMommie:
Hi, My son is also 16, he has been on aderall, mededate cd and concerta, we are having a hell of a time with these patches, I think we wasted 5 or 6 before we got them to work , good thing it was free to try because I was livid about the way they had to be fought with to put on, my son complains of stomach aches, and he has irritation from the patch, once in a while he gets the raised rash that you mentioned above, He is on 20 mg, but the doctor wants him up to 30mg , the problem I am having is the 30 mg patch is huge, so my son is fighting me on that. he also had to shave his hip area to use the patch, I don't know if these patches are a help or just adds to the problems. do you have a problem with the adhesive goo that is left behind when you take the patch off? and if so what do you use to take it off? Here is an Idea if you want to try, I set the patch in the freezer for about 30-40 secs, and it makes it come off the plastic alot easier. does anyone have the number to call about the daytrana for complaints?
I have to say though , the patch does work once you get past the fighting to get it off the plastic and on the body, and then the rash and the adhesive residue. any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
