I have been trying the freezer trick too, which worked great - but - I was thinking that when i did that the patch did not work as well. My son wore one today - and had a terrible day, as if he hadn't worn one at all. I am hoping it was just first-day-back-excitement, but I am so frustrated. When it works it really works well, but it randomly does not work, and I can't count on it.That's not good when it happens on a test day. We are lucky to have a very supportive teacher. -- posted by kkridler » momto1girl4boys - where to put the patch just wondering if anyone else got the go ahead from your doc to place the patch somewhere other than the hip. my son's skin irritation was just getting so bad. we took him in and his pediatrician prescribed a steroid cream to apply to his skin, and she said we could put the patch pretty much anywhere. it definately is not a permanent solution, but at least it gives his skin a little more time to heal between patches. she also said to prep his skin with eucerin, or aquaphor. i learned the first day of trying that, it's not a good idea! the patch will not stick when the lotion is on his skin... we are still very impressed with how well the patch is working, so i guess we'll take it day by day, and hope the manufacturer will eventually find the right balance. -- posted by momto1girl4boys » mj22345 - nausea and headaches In response to nausea and headaches posted by guat2:

-- posted by mj22345 » pumpkinpiemom - Placing and Removing the Patch I have a 13 yr old son who has been on the patch now for about 2 months and puts it on and off by himself. He is lucky in that he has no skin reactions at all. To put it on he says you should peel all the backing off first, it will roll up a little, but unrolls on the skin. It is important to hold it for 30-45 seconds to the skin with your whole hand to make it stick. He is now using a 20 mg, but has done this with 1/2 of 30 mgs and also 10s.
